World Pork Expo Trade Show

Location: Varied Industries Building, Cattle Barn, Outdoors (southwest of Varied Industries Building)

At the world's largest pork-specific trade show, a wide array of pork industry products and services will be offered by some 500 exhibitors.

Tuesday, June 2: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Location: Des Moines Marriot Downtown

Pork producers, swine handlers and transporters will be provided with current information about the handling, transportation and marketing of pigs. The forum will address the importance of stockmanship, animal welfare expectations throughout the pork supply chain, and preventing transport losses to increase your economic return.

National Hog Farmer New Product Tour

Location: Scattered throughout the trade show area in the Varied Industries Building, Outside - South of the Varied Industries Building and Cattle Barn

Stop by the National Hog Farmer booth (623 VIB), Gate 15 in the Animal Learning Center and any of the New Product Tour participating booths to pick up your passport. Then visit participating booths and have your passport stamped while you check out the newest product. Once your passport is complete, turn it in to the National Hog Farmer booth and vote for the Producer's Choice Award and register to win the daily tractor drawings, as well as the Grand Prize drawing - a series of six World Pork Expo Commemorative Toy Tractors!

The excitement and fun of live racing can be found at Expo. Racing pigs will hoof around a sawdust track at blazing speeds. It will be fun for the entire family as your participate in the pageantry of the Pig Races.

Judging starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, prizes awarded at 3:30 p.m.
Location: South of the VI Building

The nation's best bar-b-quers will vie for a share of more than $37,000 in cash prizes and national competition points in this World Pork Expo tradition. Contestants will bring their custom-made grills and sauces to compete in the categories of whole hog, ribs, loin and shoulder, and showmanship. Big Green Egg Scramble will be held Friday evening.
