Cutline for Photo 1: About 630 showmen between the ages of 2 and 21 proudly paraded their animals during the Junior National Swine Show. Participation was up 22 percent between 2009 and 2010 and the event drew exhibitors from 27 states.

Cutline for Photo 4: Producers attended a variety of educational seminars held in the PORK Academy, sponsored by National Pork Board and the Pork Checkoff, to learn about the latest issues and trends affecting the industry.

Cutline for Photo 4: Industry experts led educational seminars and industry discussions in the Marketing Information Center and PORK Academy. Animal welfare, the economic climate, environmental policies, herd health, international trade and politics were all included on this year’s agenda. The seminars were well attended, and producers were given the information they need to make smarter business decisions and improve the efficiency of their operations.
